Winter PassportJanuary 21st, Saturday We will be open for this first Passport of the year featuring the release of our 2008 RSW Cuvee...as we now call what was our Claret! This is also release day for our Winter Wine Club Shipment. It looks like we will be between storms so come on out and visit with us...we want to do our share to help with post-holiday expenses so we will pay the sales tax on all purchases during Passport! For Spring Passport we will be featuring the music of the TerraJam Jazz Band! TerraJam is a group of four very talented jazz musicians who play out of sheer love of the genre. The name of their band derives from Terra House, a Stanford coop where three of the members met and began playing 8 years ago. This event is Sunnyvale's opportunity to showcase their unbelievable diverse businesses, sip a variety of award winning delicious California wines in an enchanted atmosphere hosted by some of the finest magicians in the bay area. "Sure you can expect the "close up" street magician with his table on the sidewalk performing a few tricks but let me just say... expect the unexpected because you are in for more than a few magical surprises", states Will Chandler founder of the secret magician society the "Magic Garage". Tickets for the Wine & Food Stroll can be purchased in advance for $25 per person at many of the businesses on Murphy Avenue and at the Sunnyvale Chamber of Commerce. August EventsInaugural Santa Cruz Wine WalkAugust 5th, Fri. Join Roudon-Smith Winery in downtown Santa Cruz’s first annual Wine Walk which will take place during their monthly First Friday event. We will be pouring at Art du Jour, located at 1013 Cedar Street, and at Saffron and Genevieve, located at 910B Soquel Ave. Come visit us at either location or even better come to both as we will be featuring different wines at each site! Art du Jour is a gallery and teaching studio space offering art and educational curriculum tailored to a monthly theme. Art education and technique classes will be offered to children and adults alike taught by credentialed instructors, many of which are professional artists and trades-people within the areas of expertise. Co-founder Heather Young holds a teaching credential from the state of California and has a fine arts educational background. Co-founder Christine Currie has a background in multi media and advertising. Additional staff include docents who have retired from education and share a passion for expression. Santa Cruz offers such a diverse economy from University students, working artists and educators who believe in the community investment of an arts education. The Cerebral work of found-object art by the artist Stephen Lynch will be our focal point in the gallery, along with Steven Addi and his conceptual steel sculpture. Established in 2005 inside a spacious and lovely Victorian with twelve foot ceilings and white wood plank walls, Saffron and Genevieve offers a delightful mix of comfortable furnishings, antiques and offbeat gifts. Shop owner/interior designer Scarlett Fiona Reed travels all over the country hand-selecting unique treasures, both old and new. She has a fondness for fine and simple American and English antiques, as well as ‘make do’ primitive pieces. She also shops local and sells local art, crafts and jewelry.
